SmarterMail - Configure Shared Email Folders

To configure a Shared Email Folder:

There are 3 primary steps to do this:
(1) Create a folder to share.
(2) Enable sharing of that folder (and choose the users to share it with).
(3) Those users accept and activate the sharing of that folder.

Step by Step Instructions:
(1) Create a folder to share:


Click Inbox, then click Actions, and click New Folder.
- Type in a name for the folder and click Save.

(2) Enable sharing of that folder (and choose the users to share it with):

- Click Settings (gears icon lower left).

- Under My Settings, click to expand Sharing.
- Click Shared Resources and click New.
- Click the Folder radio button and click the down arrow to choose the \New Folder Name and click Next.
- For the Users button, select the User(s) that should have access to this folder. To select multiple users, press and hold the CTRL button and then left-click to select those users.
- Click the down arrow next to Access. Choose the level of access desired and click Save to finish.

(3) Those users must accept and activate the sharing of that folder (Shared Resource):

- Click Settings (gears icon lower left).
- Under My Settings, click to expand Sharing.
- Click "Mapped Resources" and click to accept/activate the shared resource mapping. The Mapped Resource will now show as a folder under your Inbox.
