The reason you cannot see your site using the Webserver's IP address is because that address is the shared address for all sites on the machine. Since the address is shared, to see a site, your DNS pointers must be updated for the domain and you must use the fully qualified name, example: http://www.my-domain-here.com.

If you have updated the domain pointers already, you should be able to see your site within 12 to 24 hours, although we have seen cases where the update can take up to 48 or even 72 hours.

If you need to test your site from a browser, upload files, or publish via FrontPage or InterDev, use the "alternate URL" provided in your Alentus Welcome Kit email. The alternate URL is in the form of:

http://www.yourdomain.com.servername.alentus.com

ftp://www.yourdomain.com.servername.alentus.com

Where yourdomain.com is your domain name and where servername is the webserver name that hosts your domain (example: WS013).

Alentus has found that the temporary access URLs have successfully negated any requirement for the issueing of Temporary IP addresses.
