There is a security setting in the AOL system that is needed to access password protected directories. You need to change the settings from anonymous login to "Prompt for username/password".

Once this change has been made, when you try to access the /log folder, your browser will display the username/password prompt and you can then login using your FTP credentials for the site.

For AOL Ver. 6.0, the settings are found at:

Settings > Preferences > Internet Properties

Once there, choose:

Security > Custom Level

and set it so that you will be prompted for a username and password when you try to access a password protected directory.
